Dental Implants In Chester City Centre

The Gold Standard for Tooth Replacement

We believe that a healthy smile is a happy smile.  We understand that having missing teeth can have an huge impact on self confidence as well as impede your ability to eat properly and even speak comfortably.  That is why here at FHP Foregate Dental we are dedicated in providing the highest quality dental implant solutions that will restore your smile.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are the gold standard when it comes to replacing missing teeth.  We can make the traditional dentures that just fit in the mouth and be easily removed or a bridge that relies on adjacent teeth to support it, but dental implants are fixed, stable and function in the same way as your own natural teeth and with the right care they can last a lifetime.

Whether you are missing a single tooth or several teeth, our dentist will tailor a treatment plan to suit your individual needs. In some cases, additional procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lifting may be required to prepare the jaw for successful implant placement.

At FHP Foregate Dental, these advanced procedures are carried out by Dr Ahmer Ali, a dentist with enhanced skills in oral surgery and an MSc in Implantology. Dr Ali has extensive experience delivering these treatments with precision and care, helping create the strongest possible foundation for your dental implants.

We take time to explain each stage of your treatment, answer any questions you may have and ensure you feel confident, informed and comfortable before your treatment begins.

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically inserted into the jawbone to serve as a foundation for a prosthetic tooth. Functioning similarly to the root of a natural tooth, the implant helps anchor the replacement tooth firmly in place, transferring biting forces into the jawbone.

Contemporary dental implants rely on a biological process known as osseointegration, during which the bone gradually fuses with the implant, securing it in place. This integration typically takes between 6 to 12 weeks, after which the implant can support various dental prostheses, including crowns, bridges, or dentures.

Our implants are crafted from commercially pure grade 4 titanium, a biocompatible and non-toxic material that is widely used in medical applications. Known for its strength and durability, titanium is particularly effective in joint replacements and other orthopedic procedures.  Grade 4 titanium offers exceptional strength and durability, allowing it to last for many years. It is lightweight and has been proven to form a strong bond with the surrounding bone during the healing process, ensuring a stable and long-lasting implant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Most adults with missing teeth who maintain good oral hygiene and are in good general health may be suitable candidates for dental implants. Sufficient jawbone density is needed to support the implant; however, if some bone loss has occurred, bone grafting may still be a possible option.

How long does the dental implant process take?

Dental implant treatment is not completed in a single visit. Following your initial consultation, the implant is placed and left to heal while it integrates with the surrounding bone. This process typically takes a few months before your permanent crown or denture is fitted.

Is the dental implant procedure painful?

Most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure. Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area, and many people describe the experience as similar to a routine tooth extraction. Mild postoperative swelling or bruising may occur, and some tenderness afterwards is normal. Any discomfort can usually be managed effectively with over the counter pain relief.

How do I care for my dental implants?

Care for your dental implants in the same way you would your natural teeth. Maintaining excellent oral hygiene is essential. Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth daily using interdental brushes and continue to attend your regular dental health checks and hygiene appointments.

Can I have dental implants if I smoke?

Dental implants are significantly more likely to fail in smokers. Smoking has a negative impact on oral health, particularly on the bone that supports your teeth. It is important to discuss your smoking habits with your dentist before treatment.

Can dental implants replace multiple missing teeth?

Absolutely. Dental implants can support individual crowns, bridges, or full-arch dentures, making them a flexible and effective solution for replacing one or multiple missing teeth.
